Low Carb Garlic, Maple, Bacon Brussels Sprouts
INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoon butter
1 pound Brussels sprouts, cleaned and halved lengthwise (You can buy also buy them this way.)
4 slices of crumbled bacon- (If you’re like me I use the already crumbled bacon from the bag in which case use 3 or 4 Tablespoons.)
Salt and pepper
¼ cup Walden’s zero carb maple syrup OR any sugar free syrup of your choice
2-3 garlic cloves, minced OR 1.5 Tablespoons of prepared Garlic
2 tablespoon of butter, at room temperature for tossing
-
Melt butter in a large skillet. Cook Brussels sprouts, cut side down, in a single layer until deep golden brown, 4–5 minutes. Season Brussels sprouts with salt and pepper and toss. Cook until tender, 3–4 minutes more. Set aside in a large bowl.
-
Remove the skillet from heat; add maple syrup, bacon, minced garlic and butter to pan. Once butter has melted, and the mixture is bubbly, add Brussels sprouts to skillet and toss to coat. Sprinkle with additional salt if desired.
